British Columbia Hiking Adventure

August 9th – August 21st, 2026

Get ready for an unforgettable journey through the breathtaking landscapes of British Columbia's Sea-to-Sky corridor. This itinerary is packed with iconic, challenging, and incredibly rewarding hikes, from the granite monolith of "The Chief" to the pristine alpine meadows of Garibaldi Provincial Park.

Day 1: August 9th - Arrival in Vancouver

  • Welcome to Canada! On arrival at Vancouver International Airport (YVR), you’ll be met and transferred to the Douglas Hotel, your stylish base in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Settle in, unwind, and take a gentle stroll along the nearby waterfront or through Stanley Park’s lush trails.

 

  • Accommodation: Douglas Hotel, Vancouver (2 nights)

Day 2: August 10th - Vancouver Exploration

  • A relaxed day to explore one of the world’s most livable cities. Wander through Granville Island Market, visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge, or rent a bike to circle Stanley Park Seawall.

  • Tonight, gather with your fellow adventurers for a Welcome Dinner — a perfect opportunity to toast the journey ahead and meet your local guide.

Day 3: August 11th - The Stawamus Chief Trail

  • Travel north along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway, one of Canada’s most spectacular drives, to Squamish — the “Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada.”

  • Hike: Stawamus Chief Trail

    • Distance: 6 km round trip

    • Elevation Gain: ~600 m

    • Duration: 3–4 hours

​​

  • Climb through fragrant coastal forest to the granite domes of The Chief, one of North America’s largest monoliths. From the summit, enjoy sweeping views of Howe Sound, Shannon Falls, and Mount Garibaldi. The climb is steep and rewarding, with sections of stairs and handholds.

  • Accommodation: Sandman Hotel, Squamish

Day 4: August 12th - Hike to Elfin Lakes

  • After breakfast, drive to the Elfin Lakes Trailhead in Garibaldi Provincial Park. Begin your first multi-day hike through subalpine forest and wildflower meadows to the sparkling twin Elfin Lakes.

  • Hike: Elfin Lakes Trail

    • Distance: 11 km one way

    • Elevation Gain: 600 m

    • Duration: 4–5 hours

​​

  • Arrive at your Elfin Lakes campsite, a stunning alpine basin framed by glacier-topped peaks. Spend the evening enjoying a warm meal and sunset over the Garibaldi Range.

  • Accommodation: Camping at Elfin Lakes (2 nights)

Day 5: August 13th - The Gargoyles Hike

  • Wake up to a mountain sunrise and set off on one of Garibaldi’s most dramatic hikes — The Gargoyles, a jagged ridge of volcanic spires.

​

  • Hike: The Gargoyles

    • Distance: 12 km round trip

    • Elevation Gain: 700 m

    • Duration: 5–6 hours

​​

  • Traverse alpine tundra and lava flows to panoramic views of Mount Garibaldi, Diamond Head, and beyond. Return to camp for another peaceful night under the stars.

​​

  • Accommodation: Camping at Elfin Lakes

Day 6:  August 14th - Hike Out & Travel to Pemberton

  • Descend back to the trailhead, taking in final views of wildflower meadows and glacial peaks. Transfer to Pemberton, a charming mountain village near Whistler.

  • Accommodation: Hotel in Pemberton (2 nights)

Day 7: August 15th – Free Day / Optional Rainbow Lakes Hike

  • Today is yours to relax or join an optional hike to Rainbow Lake near Whistler.

​​

  • Optional Hike: Rainbow Lake

    • Distance: 16 km round trip

    • Elevation Gain: 850 m

    • Duration: 5–6 hours

​​

 

  • A forested trail leads to a pristine alpine lake set beneath Rainbow Mountain. Expect waterfalls, wildflowers, and reflection-perfect photo ops.

​​

  • Accommodation: Hotel in Pemberton

Day 8: August 16th - Joffre Lakes Hike & Camp

  • Head north to one of British Columbia’s most iconic destinations — Joffre Lakes Provincial Park.

​​

  • Hike: Joffre Lakes Trail

    • Distance: 10 km round trip

    • Elevation Gain: 400 m

    • Duration: 4–5 hours

​​

  • Follow a glacier-fed river past three turquoise lakes — each more vivid than the last — surrounded by serrated peaks and hanging glaciers. You’ll camp beside the Third Lake, a bucket-list setting for photographers and nature lovers alike.

  • Accommodation: Camping at Joffre Lakes

Day 9: August 17th - Joffre Lakes to Squamish

  • Descend through the forest to the trailhead and return to Squamish, with time to relax or visit local breweries and art galleries.

​​

  • Accommodation: Sandman Hotel, Squamish

Day 10: August 18th - Helm Creek Trailhead 

  • Drive to the Helm Creek Trailhead, gateway to the alpine heart of Garibaldi Provincial Park.

​​

  • Hike: Helm Creek Trail

    • Distance: 8 km one way

    • Elevation Gain: 800 m

    • Duration: 3–4 hours

​​

  • Camp at Helm Creek, a peaceful alpine meadow offering spectacular views of Black Tusk, the park’s dramatic volcanic spire.

​​

  • Accommodation: Camping at Helm Creek (2 nights)

Day 11: August 19th - Panorama Ridge

  • Today’s highlight is the iconic Panorama Ridge, one of the most breathtaking hikes in all of Canada.

​​

  • Hike: Panorama Ridge

    • Distance: 14 km round trip

    • Elevation Gain: 750 m

    • Duration: 6–7 hours

​​

  • Traverse ridge lines and meadows bursting with wildflowers to a summit overlooking the dazzling Garibaldi Lake, a jewel-toned glacial basin surrounded by ice fields and jagged peaks.

​​

  • Accommodation: Camping at Helm Creek

Day 12: August 20th - Return to Vancouver

  • Return from the backcountry and travel to Georgian Manor for your final night. Enjoy a Farewell Dinner celebrating your shared adventures, new friendships, and the spirit of exploration that defines the group.

Day 13: August 21nd - Departure

  • Transfer to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) for your flight home — taking with you memories of alpine lakes, laughter around campfires, and the satisfaction of conquering some of British Columbia’s most legendary trails.
